In the event of an emergency, for the most updated information San Diego's KOGO- AM-600 is always a good source to turn to for updated information when we cannot supply it ourselves.If you have a smart phone, you can download the free app-iHeart radio and tap into the San Diego city listing of stations to listen to KOGO live. In the future the district office will try to post public service announcements to KOGO.

LCAP Forums, Survey and Draft Plan

The Oceanside Unified School District will host two Community Forums to gather input and provide information regarding the draft of the OUSD Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Parents and community members may attend one or both meetings. Click OUSD LCAP Survey to provide input online.

Student registration for the 2014-2015 school year will be completed online.  The district will be providing registration assistance at Mission Elementary School and Libby Elementary School on several dates over the coming months.  See the flyers below for a complete list of dates and times.

Create your Parent Portal Account

Oceanside Unified School District is moving all school registration procedures to online starting on May 1st, 2014. To re-register your student for the 2014-2015 school year you will need an Aeries Portal account. If you have an existing portal account you will receive an email notifying you of the account. The account can be accessed by smart phones with internet access, your home computer, or you may visit our computer lab, room 10A  on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15-8:45 AM to use the school computer. Please create your account so that you are set to re-register beginning May 1st.

Green Oceanside, OUSD Teaming up for Annual Contest

GreenOceansideLogo_2.jpgEnvironmentally conscientious students are invited to use their creative talents in this year’s City of Oceanside “Create to Educate” performance art contest. All students in grades 1-12 are eligible to creatively express through writing, song, video or art how our community can help improve and save the environment.

Recycling, preserving natural resources, water conservation and renewable energy are some of the many areas for students to focus their entries. Click Create to Educate for contest rules and details.

Chargers Champion Grant Helps Rejuvenate McAuliffe Running Track

Copy of Chargers 1.JPGPromoting physical fitness and health for McAuliffe students just got a little easier. Thanks to a $17,000 Chargers Grant, the school has refurbished its running track.  Visit OUSD Facebook to view more photos.

Charger cheerleaders and representatives of the NFL team were on hand Tuesday for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Principal Betsy Wilcox told students, staff and parents the new track is a “great addition to the school’s Happy Feet health program for all students."

During the past 10 years, the Chargers have awarded more than $4 million in grants to more than 100 San Diego County Schools.

Volunteers are needed! Recycling is once a month. . This year we could use help checking in students and their bags. We only need about 30 minutes of your time from 8:15-8:45 AM. Each parent will earn their child 2 star cards for participating. OUSD Nutrition Services has a Facebook Page!

"Like" OUSD Nutrition Services on Facebook. Lots of great information about breakfast and lunch items, information on special grant programs, and nutrition fun facts. It's also a great way to leave feedback! Also, Nutrition Services has an app for the menu! Search the app store for "School Lunch Nutrislice" and find the Nutrislice app. The app includes menus for each school, pictures of breakfast and lunch menu items, nutrition and allergen information, and the option to rate each food item.

Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.
