In the Event of an Emergency

In the event of an emergency, for the most updated information San Diego's KOGO- AM-600 is always a good source to turn to for updated information when we cannot supply it ourselves.If you have a smart phone, you can download the free app-iHeart radio and tap into the San Diego city listing of stations to listen to KOGO live. In the future the district office will try to post public service announcements to KOGO.

The OUSD 2014-15 Student/Parent Handbook is now available for viewing online.  The handbook is available in both English and Spanish.  Parents can also download a PDF version of this guide.  Click English Student/Parent Handbook or Spanish Student/Parent Handbook to access this year’s guide.

LCAP Survey for Parents, Staff and Community Members

LCAP 2.jpgA short survey to solicit community and staff input as the district works to finalize this year’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is being offered by the Oceanside Unified School District.  To provide input, please Click LCAP Survey to share your thoughts on how OUSD can best utilize state funding to serve the needs of all children attending schools in the district. 

The LCAP is used to help tie the district’s annual budget to goals for making academic improvements.  It is an important part of the state’s required Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), which was established in 2013. The short survey will be available online through Friday, May 22.

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Oceanside está realizando una encuesta sencilla para solicitar las opiniones o comentarios de la comunidad y el personal escolar a medida que el distrito trabaja en finalizar el Plan de Control Local y Rendimiento de Cuentas (LCAP) de este año. New Student Registration/ Online Registration begins May 4th

The Oceanside Unified School District offers a convenient option for student registration.  Student registration may be completed online.  The goal of this new option is to make the registration process more convenient for families and their busy schedules. If you prefer to complete the process, as you have done in the past by using the paper packet we can provide that to you as well.  

New OUSD students/ Online Registration:  Log in to https://registration.oside.us/  and follow the instructions on the registration site. Upon completion of the online registration process, the parent or legal guardian will need to visit the school to provide Birth Certificate, Immunization Records, two current bills for Verification of Residence, and a printed copy of your Enrollment Confirmation.

New student registration at McAuliffe Elementary will be open from May 4th thru June 5th from 9:00-11:00 and on Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00.

Measles Awareness and Information for Parents

1420876927724.pngThe San Diego County Office of Health and Human Services has verified several reported cases of measles throughout the county.  Please know that NO cases of this highly contagious viral infection have been reported in the Oceanside Unified School District. 

Click Measles Information to learn more about what you can to help prevent the spread of this condition, and what to do should you suspect your child or some other person in your family or household may have symptoms of measles.  In the event of any reported cases in our district, you will be informed.  Visit Centers for Disease Control for further information.

Interdistrict Transfer Requests for 2015-16 School Year

Requests to transfer students to schools located inside or outside the OUSD zoned boundaries will be accepted beginning January 5, 2015.  Interdistrict application forms are available at the OUSD Education Support Services Office, 2080 Mission Ave.  The office is open 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Click Interdistrict Transfer Permit for more information, or call 760-966-7802 .

Parents looking to move a child from one OUSD school site to another for the 2015-16 school year can begin applying for the district’s School of Choice (SOC) option beginning January 5, 2015.  The deadline to file the application is Tuesday, March 31 at 3:30 p.m.

Click School of Choice for specific details on the application process, and to view a list of schools classified as “capped” due to enrollment capacity.  For more information, please call the OUSD Student Services Department at 760-966-7802.

Proceso de Solicitud de Escuela de Preferencia para el Año Escolar 2015-16 empieza el 5 de enero

Los padres de familia interesados en trasladar a sus hijos de una escuela a otra escuela del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Oceanside para el año escolar 2015-16 pueden solicitar la opción de Escuela de Preferencia (School of Choice) a partir del 5 de enero de 2015. ParentLink App Available for OUSD Parents

Parent Link Logo.jpgA new ParentLink App for smart phones is now available to OUSD parents.  The App aims to provide and improve all avenues of district and student communication and information for parents.  Watch the video below.

ParentLink’s easy-to-use App provides emergency messaging, custom messages and language translation.  Parents can now get OUSD information when they need it. 

OUSD Parents using the district’s Aeries portal will be receiving an e-mail with instructions on how to download the App.  For more information, please see the district website at http://www.oside.us/parentlink.

Online Meal Registration

OUSD Nutrition Services has a Facebook Page!

"Like" OUSD Nutrition Services on Facebook. Lots of great information about breakfast and lunch items, information on special grant programs, and nutrition fun facts. It's also a great way to leave feedback! Also, Nutrition Services has an app for the menu! Search the app store for "School Lunch Nutrislice" and find the Nutrislice app. The app includes menus for each school, pictures of breakfast and lunch menu items, nutrition and allergen information, and the option to rate each food item.

Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.
